A day for the girls at the Grand Forks Women’s Show

Every so often, we ladies get a girls night out, but it is not very often we get an entire day out! Saturday, October 26th is that day. The Grand Forks Women’s Show returns for its 6th year and brings everything a woman could want. The GFWS packs the Alerus Center Arena with fashion and beauty, hobbies and careers, food and wine, and everything in between.

The GFWS Main Stage is full this year. The day starts with a yoga calss and demonstration from Choice Health & Fitness and the Altru YMCA. Guests are encouraged to jump in and participate. Marilyn Hagerty takes the stage at 11 a.m. for an interview on her new book. She will also share her various experiences on the Anderson Cooper Show, the Today Show and her trips to New York, At noon 401 E Engery of Grand Forks will give us 10 tips on keeping your home energy efficient and save money followed by a Zumba demonstrative from Choice Health & Fitness.

The final Main Stage event is one of the most popular. At 2:30 p.m. the GFWS Fasion Show begins. Ten clothing stores from Grand Forks and Fargo will be showcasing their fall and winter fasions for this season.

One of the highlights of the Women’s Show is Hugo’s Food and Wine Experience. Starting at 12:30 p.m., Hugo’s will begin a six-course meal that includes appetizers, main courses and desserts along with two wine pairings for each course. Some of the delicious dishes that will be served are chicken mornay and roasted squash, popovers with fresh pineapple mango salsa and sherry trifle layered ladyfingers infused with sherry and topped with strawberries, vanilla custard and raspberry preserve. While wating between the vaiours entertainment segments on the main stage, you can peruse over 100 exhibits with vendors carrying products and information on everything a woman could want. Marilyn Hagerty will also have a booth where she will sign copies of her new book.

When you arrive at the show, make sure you get registered for the many door prizes that will be given away throughout the day. A few of the goodies include a Hope Schwinn Scooter for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a beautiful chocolate diamond necklace set in 18 carat gold from Riddle’s Jewelry valued at $2,900.
